Carnaby Street - Men's Style Night

Here at The Amazing Blog, we know that shopping is an experience that men could happily live without. All of this is about to change, however, because on 11th September, Men’s Style Night will be gracing the pavements of Carnaby Street. Much like a fine suit, men will be able to enjoy a shopping experience tailored to their every wish. And as the event is held in association with GQ, we can expect nothing but the best in style.

Between 5-9pm, over 100 fashion brands, including Paul Smith, Vans and Fred Perry, are uniting to create the ultimate shopping experience. Registration for the event is completely free, and entitles you to a 20% discount in participating shops, as well as access to over 50 free experiences. Whisky tasting, shoe shining and an F1 simulator are just a few of the fantastic experiences on the agenda, as well as the plethora of trend talks, tips and masterclasses available over at the GQ pop up shop.

If you still aren’t all that interested in a shopping spree, fear not, as Carnaby’s delicious collection of restaurants will also be participating. Stax, The Rum Kitchen and Pizza Pilgrims will all be flogging their tasty wares as part of the event. Once you’re fed, head on over to fashionable watering hole, Cirque Le Soir, who will be running a ‘Vintage Circus’ pop up bar. Complimentary Ringmaster cocktails will be up for grabs, along with a selection of other intoxicating treats.

A Wardrobe Detox Consultation lasts for two hours, with Simon coming to your home or office and going through your wardrobe, or indeed simply the pieces you wish to pull out for attention. There are three categories:

Current Season - the pieces you are wearing to their full potential, and therefore earning their place in your wardrobe.

Potential Tweaking - the pieces which may appear dated or even unwearable, but with a little adjustment, can be altered to become part of your Current Season Wardrobe.

Redundant Pieces - the outfits which have served their purpose, and which need to be sent to the recycling bin, and thus creating space in your wardrobe. He calls it CPR for your clothes!

 

The cost of the detox is £250, which covers the initial two hour consultation, and the alteration of one outfit which is undertaken by Simon's team, at his studio, and then returned to you. The Lacquer Lab - Spring Breakers Collection

A classy nail can really pull an outfit or look together. That’s why we were very excited, here at The Amazing Blog to receive two lacquers from The Lacquer Lab’s Spring Breakers Collection. They were kind enough to send us Joy Ride and Cancun Hot to try out. Both colours are very on trend for this summer season and we were dying to try them!

The Lacquer Lab is a really exciting company, as they come out with unique nail colours for every season. They are also 5 free, which means that they do not include 4 nasty chemicals (Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene and Camphor) in their hand mixed lacquers, and they do not test on animals. Our nails and all the cute fluffy animals thank The Lacquer Lab for that! Both colours that we received are well placed to represent the whole of the summer season. The Joy Ride is a unique pastel mint colour, neutral enough to be perfect for the office, a garden party, or just everyday errands, while the Cancun Hot is named perfectly! This orangey-red colour is for those steamy summer nights, or that exciting summer holiday (If we are lucky!!), but if you are spending the summer behind a desk, then you can always put it on to brighten up your outlook while you are stuck indoors.

Here at The Amazing Blog, we love finding new products that help to enhance our look. Today we’re going to introduce you to Figgahugga, an item of clothing that we think every girl needs to know about. Figgahugga is a new British company that specialises in making shapewear that is fun, youthful and at last, acceptable to show off. The Figgahugga is seamlessly designed without darts, hooks, zips, bulging straps or wires. Basically it is like a tube or long singlet. There are various outfit ideas provided on their website that show how versatile Figgahugga can be. The garments are crafted with breathable nylon and lycra, creating a strong yet comfortable hold for all day wear. The one we tried was Electric Blue, which we thought worked best under a jacket and skirt for the office, or with a cutaway T-shirt on top for casual daytime, but best of all, we loved the way it looked under a lace dress for the evening. Therefore, this clever Figgahugga takes you from office to party with just a click of your heels! NB: Since they are meant to ‘hug’ all of your curves, getting it on does take a bit of effort. We found that the suggested technique of stepping into it and sliding it on worked best.
