Candle Feature - Friday Favourites

We at The Amazing Blog love nothing more than relaxing at home surrounded by wonderful aromas. There are all kinds of ways to achieve this, including diffusers, aromatherapy oils, and room sprays, but nothing is more satisfying than lighting a fresh candle. Now that we’re approaching spring, it’s time to switch to some new fresh, rejuvenating scented candles. Here’s a few of our favourites!

ARK Skincare - Hydration Injection Masque

Skin can be so temperamental; one day we are flawless and radiant, and the next, we break out with blemishes or dry patches. This is incredibly frustrating, but here at The Amazing Blog, we have found the perfect mid-week pick-me-up to treat all of these concerns. Ark have created a Hydration Injection Masque to rejuvenate and nourish skin of all ages.

Part of the new Skin Perfector range, this is an intense and effective treatment mask. The active botanicals work in just about every way you could wish for, and the blend of various vitamins will leave you with plump and even skin. We loved that Ark provided instructions for each separate age group - under twenties only had to keep the mask on for around 5 minutes, but those who are concerned with wrinkles can leave it on overnight for a super intensive treatment. We found that only a thin layer was needed and it still left our skin glowing with healthy radiance. It really was a perfect pick-me-up for stressed skin, and so luxurious and effective.

Ark Skincare for Defence and Protection

It’s no secret that we at The Amazing Blog are fans of Ark Skincare. One or other of us has a pot or two on the go at any one time. Plus not forgetting to mention that their flagship salon is based nearby our office. So I in particular was excited to receive their new Regenerating Skin Defence and SPF 30 Primer, which work very neatly together or separately to fit with your regular skincare regime.

I’ll start with The Ark Regenerating Skin Defence available here – this is suitable for all skin types and is designed to protect and nourish the skin. It is a great daily moisturiser particularly for those of us who are city dwellers, as this product is designed to defend the skin against pollution, environmental and lifestyle pressures. We love the texture and smell. It comprises of advanced plant stem-cell technology which helps to repair and the regenerate skin cells.  We’re also impressed with The Ark SPF 30 Primer, which can be found here.  This is a product that has been four years in the making, the new ARK SPF30 Primer is clinically tested and contains an advanced formulation fusing skincare and SPF to protect skin from sun damage and pollution, while enhancing its appearance and texture. Again it is suitable for all skin types and it not only delivers protection like the Regenerating Skin Defence, but also works as a fabulous primer giving the skin a silky feel and a wonderfully luminous velvet finish. Key natural ingredients include Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Jojoba, Mimosa and Sunflower. The primer is available for £36, for 50 ml – we consider this an essential.

ARK - Invigorating Body Scrub

As regular readers of The Amazing Blog will know I’m a bit of a fan of the ARK Skincare range. I first discovered the brand when I was given their wonderful Nourishing Body Lotion  and as you will see from my post, I did rather eulogise about it! Still I have to say, that even today it’s one of my favourite Body Lotion. However, I am now reviewing their Invigorating Body Scrub l which I had my eye on for a while… And just to reiterate from my previous post, Age Appropriate Skincare , ARK Skincare has divided its skin therapy into three age appropriate product lines. Starting with ‘Age Prepare’ (late teens to early 30s), ‘Age Maintain’ (mid 30s to 50) and finally moving onto their ‘Age Repair’ (50 and beyond). This Body Scrub is part of the ‘Essential Skincare’ range and seems to span across all three of these age-related product ranges. ARK believes that there are two main skin transitional periods in the ageing process where there is a dramatic shift in hormone production and a significant change in the way the body functions; i.e. in late 20s to early 30s and late 50s to early 60s.  What I particularly liked about this Invigorating Body Scrub is that is very gentle but also extremely effective. It smells divine (echoing a similar fragrance to the Body Lotion) and contains small flakes of loofah (a very nice and natural ingredient), as well as Multifruit Acids and invigorating Mint.

As my beauty routine changes seasonally, this is the time of year when I need to have an excellent body scrub on hand. It is my essential item in order to keep my skin looking tip-top. As any regular user of fake tan will know, it’s crucial to exfoliate at least twice a week sloughing off the dead skin cells to keep an even looking tan for longer. This ARK Invigorating Body Scrub truly did not disappoint, it banished dry patches and energised my skin ready for a fresh application of my chosen fake tan. This tidy little 200ml tube at £24 really does now have pride of place in my shower and I’m sure will continue to stay there for many other seasons to come.
