Friday Favourites - Lip Feature

Here at The Amazing Blog, we always have a hard time finding the perfect lip colour. It’s difficult to determine exactly which brand and shade is just right for you, so we’ve decided to make it a bit easier by compiling some of our favourite lip brands and what we like about each of them.

Makeup by James is a line of lipsticks and lip glosses designed to give women a natural flawless look. The names of the products are inspired by famous streets and bridges in London. Makeup by James caters to the modern woman by using colours for all cultures to give a chic, modern look. We love this brand because not only is there a colour for everyone, but it is full of Minerals for a longer lasting colour and it's London theme comes through in every part of the product and brand. Max Factor’s Lipfinity lip colours are hot, must-have shades that last all day. These glosses last up to 24 hours, and you can chose from 25 subtle to vibrant shades. First, you simply apply the colour, and then use the moisturising balm to keep the colour from coming off. This makes the gloss stay put for hours, which is what is so great about it; there is no need to reapply all day long! The Lipfinity lip colour is available for £10.99 each here at their UK distributor.

Oriflame Sweden makes The ONE colour lip gloss that is perfect for any occasion. It has lipgrip innovation that attaches to your lips for an anti-smudge result. It glistens and shines, which makes the lips the “centre of attraction.” There is also a blend of conditioners in the gloss to keep lips soft for lip-loving colour and shine that stays put! A lot of times, shiny lip gloss can be thick and tacky, but The ONE is not overly sticky. The ONE lip gloss can be bought here for £8.95.

The Rajeuner Lip Serum is a little different to the other products in this Friday’s feature, as it is for protection rather than appearance. It’s a unique formulation containing plant extracts and an SPF to ensure your lips are moisturised, repaired, rejuvenated and protected. A long-lasting treatment with a silky, silicone base which is completely free of petrochemicals and parabens, the serum slides on and is absorbed immediately into the lips, meaning there’s not stickiness which can cause havoc. Couleur Caramel is a 100% natural makeup brand. The Gloss is perfect for dull, thirsty lips, and will add a radiant shimmer due to it's mineral rich composition. It is available in many delightfully chic colours. The gloss contains organic jojoba oil and organic apricot oil, which nourishes and moisturises the lips to make them as soft as possible. Oriflame - Ecollogen Foaming Gel Wash & Skin Perfecting Toner

If paradise had a smell, it would most certainly be Oriflame Ecollagen Foaming Gel Wash and Skin Perfecting Toner. As soon as us girls at The Amazing Blog opened the bottles, it was almost a scuffle! With a light, yet stimulating floral scent, we could not wait to wash our faces with the foaming gel wash and use the skin perfecting toner.

After fighting our way to the loo, good naturedly of course, we were able to try out these great products. The foaming gel wash comes out of the conveniently locking pump in a clear gel and foams up well for the face. When washed off, it leaves your face feeling smooth and refreshed. The toner goes on with a cotton pad and leaves the face feeling further refreshed and soft as feathers. One of the greatest things about this toner was that it did not leave the face feeling dry at all. This is a well balanced skin care duo and the scent alone makes the line worth checking out.

Play Up Your Lips This Summer with Oriflame Lip Impact Crayons

 

Most days here at The Amazing Blog ,you can catch all of the girls donning a bold and vibrant colour to their lips. It is the perfect finishing touch to everyone's look, and every girl knows it makes you feel like you can handle anything. So, when the Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon came through our door, I was not surprised to see everyone scramble to get their hands on one as soon as we opened the box.

The Oriflame Lip Impact Crayon may appear to be a simple lip pencil, but once you remove the cover you are faced with a deep display of rich colour. The Vibrant Almond that I chose was a lovely surprise. It provided just the right amount of pink colour blended with taupe. It was neither overpowering nor average; the perfect balance resulting in a creamy pink. The colour was so rich and smooth, whilst the formula provides moisture to the lips. I simply swept the pencil onto my lips and I had long-lasting wear for the better part of my day. One thing to note about this product was that a little goes a long way! A mere swipe onto my lips and I had the full effect as if it were applied several times.  The texture of the pencil is great as well, not scratchy as some can be. This lip crayon is a perfect purse must-have. It will suit you in the day as well as the night and can take you from the office to cocktails in seconds. It is also a great summer make-up choice because of the moisturising feel and lasting power. You can wear the pencil alone for a colour-charged look, or dab some gloss over the top for a super shiny glamorous finish.

Oriflame Amber Elixir Night

 

At The Amazing Blog we always love to test out new perfumes. After reviewing Oriflame Pretty Swan we couldn’t help ourselves but review another one Oriflames lovely fragrances. We decided we wanted to try a scent that would be perfect for a night out, instead of the Pretty Swan, which we believe could be worn all day.

Amber Elixir Night  was introduced in 2009, which if I would have known how fantastic this smelled, I would have been the first one to buy it. Fortunately for us at The Amazing Blog we all got to test out this spray. We all agreed that Amber Elixir Night is a very rich fragrance that has a strong  sweet scent to it, it almost reminds me of the rich smell of almonds.  The Amber Elixir Night perfume out performs a lot of the other expensive perfumes that I have worn in the past simply because it lasts for around 6-7 hours. What I loved about Amber Elixir is that when it soaked onto my skin for a couple minutes or so, the notes of fruit and the amber seemed to become more prominent, and after a couple of hours the sweet almond fragrance became more noticeable, it was constantly evolving. It was as if I changed my perfume throughout the night.

I would recommend Oriflame Amber Elixir to anyone who was interested in a sophisticated yet fruity type of fragrance that is perfect for those nights where you just want to stand out. I personally can guarantee I will be wearing this as much as I can.  For the resonable price of £20.95 you can have the perfect long lasting fragrance that will give you that sexy and desirable edge on your nights out.

Oriflame - Pretty Swan

Whenever we get the chance of reviewing a perfume at The Amazing Blog we get super excited. After doing a bit of research on what perfumes to feature, we came across with Oriflame’s new launch: Pretty Swan 'A celebration of feminity and sophistication'. This we all wanted to try...

Pretty Swan has been created by Bernard Ellena, and it aims to reflect the Prima Ballerina’s aura – a mixture of brightness, feminity and grace. Ellena has chosen the purest quality of Pink Pepper coupled with Mandarin to evoke a Prima Ballerina's entry on stage. It is  the perfect blend of of deep Heliotrope and Jasmines with  a touch of velvety Apricot. When Pretty Swan warms up on the skin, the scent is very slightly musky, blended with rice powder, blonde wood and vanilla orchid.

We give this the all-round 'thumbs up' and it smelt really good on each of us (however, you'll be glad to know that we didn't spritz Mojai!) The question is, who's going to take the bottle home...? Pretty Swan comes in a vintage-style bottle that was inspired by a ballerina’s tutu - hence the rather elegant and flared tinted glass container. The price we think is a very reasonable £16.95 for 50ml for an  Eau de toilette.  So if you are looking for a soft, elegant scent that will enhance and not over-power then this is for you, it can be purchased on Oriflame’s website.
