Heathcote & Ivory - Vintage & Co: Braids & Blooms

It's 'Bon voyage' with Heathcote & Ivory’s new and bestselling Vintage & Co Braids & Blooms collection. This Inflight Essentials pack comes well-equipped with a travel sized hand cream, a sanitiser and calming gel, a set of designer playing cards and earplugs. You can find all of your travelling necessities inside this 'Braids & Booms' vintage-inspired package. The Amazing Blog has tried many of their charmingly designed products, see here for their drawer liners. We were therefore excited to try their new travel kit, a product now at the top of our packing list.

We are always itching to get away on our travels, but with that, we are faced with dreaded travel days. From a restless night’s sleep, hoping that we don’t snooze through our alarms, to praying that the weather will cooperate to avoid any delays - we are ready to depart both looking, and feeling exhausted!

However, with this handy Inflight Essentials kit, you are offered a much needed and calming in-flight routine. First, sanitise your hands, a welcome ritual after fiddling around with luggage. Then, apply the calming gel, which is infused with lavender, to relieve anxieties and aid sleep. Slip in your earplugs, massage your hands with the shea butter and vitamin E enriched hand cream, and close your eyes. If you do have trouble sleeping, take out the playing cards to keep yourself occupied with a solo game of patience, or perhaps persuade your neighbour to a quick game of poker! You can purchase your travel pack here for £12.00.

The Style Me in Seconds pop up event is offering free styling sessions to demonstrate the uniqueness and versatility of charity shop clothing. For those of us who don’t often have the patience to rummage through rails of clothing at charity shops, this event is a great way to see the endless creative possibilities of charity shop fashion. While it might be easier to buy off the peg than to rifle through the rails, charity shops can be a treasure trove of unique and vintage pieces that can set your wardrobe apart from the rest. Professional stylists can help you experiment with new looks or add a unique twist to your existing outfits.

White Dove and Wonder

blog At The Amazing Blog we love when old and vintage products are restored and transformed into works of art. When we discovered the innovative brand White Dove and Wonder we were enthralled with their brilliant creations. White Dove and Wonder specialises in creating quirky art by taking vintage shoe lasts from the 1930’s and using them to create handmade wooden designs that are then turned into shelves, tables or bookends. These pieces are highly sophisticated and will surely attract the attention of your friends and family.

When the creator, Susan Gaston, inherited tons of vintage shoe lasts from her family business she knew she could use them to help create something unique. She’s given them a new lease on life by using them to help create her White Dove and Wonder pieces, such as the bookends seen above. Each shoe last design is hand-crafted and stained with an elegant finish. And while no two shoe lasts look identical, you can be sure that your purchase is truly one of a kind. White Dove and Wonder creations are perfect for those of you who are passionate about interiors and home stuff, especially if your taste gravitates towards the quirky side of the spectrum.

You can order your very own Susan Gaston's creations from the brand's website. White Dove & Wonder prices start at £40 - even if the price tags are a bit spendy you'll still be in awe at the gorgeous art this talented designer has created.

Heathcote & Ivory Vintage Collection

blog After a tough start to the week, all I could think about was going home and taking a nice, relaxing bubble bath. I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to use the bath melts from Heathcote & Ivory’s vintage collection in the Mimosa and Pomegranate scent. We had received these earlier here at The Amazing Blog and I was just dying to get the chance to try them out. From the moment I dropped these into my bath, the rich floral scent of mimosa and the light fruity scent of pomegranate filled my entire bathroom. I was able to melt away the stresses of the beginning of the week with the softening and relaxing notes that had begun to perfume the water. My bath left me feeling silky smooth and smelling delicous, and the relaxed feeling lasted long after my bath was finished. These bath melts created a decadent bath time experience and left me feeling calm and level-headed, not to mention they are sulphate and paraben free which is always a plus.

To complete the experience, I decided to use their coordinating Hand and Nail lotion. This lotion, with its combination of fruity pomegranate and rich mimosa, it's also enriched with vitamin E and Shea butter which left my hands feeling soft and my nails stronger. My hands looked and felt instantly nourished and with the lotion being natural and paraben free as well, I didn't have to worry about applying any strange chemicals to my hands.  I loved the feeling and the scent so much I've decided to stash some in my handbag in case I'm need of further moisture protection - especially in this freeze weather.

The combination of both the bath melts as well as the hand lotion left me feeling relaxed and was exactly what I was looking for. If you need a 'pick me up' of your very own you can purchase the Bath Melts for £7.00 and the Hand and Nail Lotion for £5.00 on their website and get ready to create your own perfect bath time experience.
