Nourishe : Nectar of Life - Beautifying Face Serum

If you’re reading The Amazing Blog, then you’ll know that we love brands that combine cutting-edge science with potent, natural botanicals. This is why today, we'd like to introduce the organic and vegan skincare Nourishe and their rather aptly named face oil serum, The Nectar of Life.  We were interested to find out more about how this serum strengthens the skin from within, using whole plant complexes and geometric formulations only found in nature.

Natural and organic USA based skincare brand Nourishe is founded by master alchemist Kristin Bauer. She developed an interest in DNA mutation and the skin treatment of patients while working early on in a hospital burns unit. This is where she began to study the science behind skin growth and regeneration. Once she became pregnant with her daughter, she began to realise the magnitude of chemicals in our everyday daily lives, wondered to herself, "How can we expect to have healthy bodies if we are using polluted chemical products on our skin?" Over ten years, Kristin travelled to the Amazon jungle of Peru, where she studied herbalism with Indigenous peoples and native healers. Through this experience, Kristin discovered the power and potency of nature and how it can work to heal the body. Nourishe puts that power at the forefront of their beliefs, using 100% organic cruelty-free and vegan ingredients, which are also ethically grown and harvested raw from nature and, therefore, free from preservatives, fillers, and chemicals. They use only botanicals as ingredients, instead of using, say, four or five certified organic ingredients, they use an astonishing twenty to forty in each product, allowing the maximum potential for nutrition absorption into the skin. Plant neurobiology studies have shown how plants respond and survive against all odds in environmental variables; Nourishe uses this plant intelligence to integrate some of these evolved learnings into their skincare to heal and work on a cellular level. They also believe in the power of self-love and self-care, carefully selecting ingredients and providing education about the truth of toxicity in skincare products. In addition, the brand uses quantum entanglement science to encode each product with the Schumann resonance, which is scientifically proven to repair DNA and help new DNA helices form! Their passion for nature doesn't end there; the brand also uses environmentally friendly packaging, with biophotonic glass, allowing only three spectrums of light to pass through.  All products are certified organic by Where Food Come From (formerly known as A Bee Organic).

The Nectar of Life is a rich amber-coloured face oil serum full of plant and botanical extracts and made with worldwide botanical ‘nectars’. As mentioned above, these all come together with their plant intelligence using the Schumann resonance method, where they adapt to enhance the skin’s needs. There are over thirty-two organic ingredients in this small 15ml bottle! For us, the star ingredient here is the helichrysum flower extract from the yellow helichrysum stoechas plant, which has been used for centuries in ancient medicine for its anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties. The flower has been referred to as "Immortelle" due to its anti-ageing properties and is considered one of the oldest healing oils in Europe. We love how the helichrysum is rich in flavonoids, kaempferol flucosides, apigenin luetolin, quercetin and essential oils. Then there is its cousin the chrysanthemum flower extract, also yellow in colour, but with a much larger flower head, it helps to clear up skin irritation, redness, and even eczema and psoriasis. It also reduces skin discolouration and puffiness and offers numerous healing benefits i.e. being currently used to treat prostate cancer. One of our other favourites here is the prickly pear seed oil, high in essential fatty acids, omega-6, omega-9, and the natural antioxidant vitamin E. These ingredients brighten and replenish skin while reducing skin inflammation and preventing skin damage and acne. Finally, the last of the key ingredients is red ginseng root, known as the "root of immortality". it contains high levels of phytonutrients that increase oxygen circulation to skin cells, boosting energy production within the cells and brightening skin. The serum is waterless and doesn’t contain aloe vera gel, glycerin, or fillers that could disrupt the skin or cause increased bacteria growth in the serum.

We loved how it’s fragrance-free ( with only the natural scent of the botanicals) and how this amber nectar made skin soft and gave it a radiant glow, so it’s no small wonder that it was an Editor’s Choice Gold Winner at the 2021 Global Green Beauty Awards. EARTH from Earth: Damask Rose Skin Balm

It is no secret that here at The Amazing Blog, we value natural skincare products above all else. After all beauty trends come and go, but our skin is here for life, and so it’s imperative to take care of it. As always, we’re on the hunt for new and exciting products, and today’s latest discovery is from EARTH from Earth, with their Damask Rose Skin Balm.

EARTH from Earth is a wellness brand that focuses on natural and organic skincare, haircare and grooming products. Founded by Kehinde Ogunba, a graduate of Formula Botanics, who saw that there was a “gap in approachable and effective self-care products that are made with the right combination of herbs and unconventional superior plant oils and butter.” Ogunba works closely with Minomi Adejumo, who is the formulator and brand alchemist for EARTH from Earth. Adejumo is a qualified pharmacist and medical herbalist with expansive knowledge of both African and Western healing traditions. Adejumo has “a strong appreciation and experience in harnessing the therapeutic properties of numerous herbs and plant oils.” EARTH is a acronym for Essences Aromas Relaxation Therapy Healing. These ideas are what the brand aims to offer for the modern woman, man and family; since their products are formulated to “nourish, uplift, calm and balance mind, body and soul.” EARTH from Earth describes their range of products as “indulgent, potent, aromatic and nutrient-dense” with all-natural, organic plant oils and herbs that are chosen specifically for their “therapeutic abilities and extraordinary efficacy.” Every product is made in the UK and handcrafted to nourish, condition, moisturise, rejuvenate, restore, uplift and balance. The fragrances only come from the raw aroma of the natural ingredients combined with the “delicate blend of aromatherapy oils to evoke a deep sense of sensory awakening.” Most of their products are plastic-free in brown amber glass containers and housed in a biodegradable paper tubes, with earthy jute sacs to keep them safe. They made with 100% ethically-sourced herbs, plant oils and butters which are vegan and cruelty free.

EARTH from Earth’s Damask Rose Skin Balm contains a unique blend of antioxidants and vitamin-rich superior butters, plant oils and herbs. We love that the natural and organic ingredients create their own natural and raw aroma. This skin balm feels and smells luxurious. It is specifically formulated to provide deep nourishment, hydration and replenishment. This balm is laced with one of our favourite ingredients the rosa damescena, “carefully hand-picked early in the morning before they can open and release their precious scent, soothing and sensual as it infuses the skin with enriching nutrients.” The herbal extracts are produced in-house to ensure the essence of every herb is fully released into the oils. To use this soothing skin balm, scoop a small portion into your hands to warm it up and take a moment to inhale the natural aromas, then proceed to apply the balm all over your skin.  The key herbal ingredients here are wild geranium, broadleaf plantain, gotu kola, nettle, calendula, licorice root, field horsetail, marshmallow, chickweed. Together they are blended with oils from coconut, grapeseed, castor, avocado, jojoba, olive and African oil palm. There is candelilla wax, murumuru and cacao butters to give the Balm its consistency. The fragrance is subtle combination of the essential oils, with rosa damescena, patchouli and geranium. In short, this is a beautiful and delicately scented Balm which is free from water, alcohol, chemical preservatives, stabilisers and additives. We used it on face and body, concentrating on elbows, knees and lips. Verolive: Firming Cellulite Cream

Here we are in mid-May with more grey days and rain… Of course, it’s great for the plants but not for our spirits!  At The Amazing Blog,  we’re still living in hope for the appearance of a gloriously hot June. Which is why this week, we’re reviewing a couple of new and natural body care products to help you get body-ready for the sunshine. What piqued our interest about this Firming Cellulite Cream, is that it won Best Cellulite Treatment in the 2020 Mama & Baby Awards, and we’ve wanted to try this ever since. The purpose of this formula is to reduce cellulite, which is from an accumulation of fat under the dermis that weakens the connective tissue, and generates a series of orange-peel ripples over the skin. Although it is a harmless and natural condition, for the body-conscious, trying to get rid of this dimply cellulite can sometimes be an issue. This formula has nine actives , and is 94% natural including many ingredients native to Crete. Let’s start with some of these local ingredients which include, organic shea butter, olive and sunflower oil, sweet almond oil, aloe vera, natural beeswax, which all work together to moisturise the skin, thanks to their various nutrients and fatty acids. With a more in depth look at their function we find that the organic extra virgin olive oil is for skin barrier function, making it stronger, thanks to its numerous vitamins such as vitamins D, E, K and A. The organic avocado oil is here to make skin smoother, firmer and more elastic due to its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. The caffeine here enhances the microcirculation to actively reduce the orange-peel look. Cellulite only really becomes a concern for us as every summer approaches. ST.. essentials: Eco-Friendly Shimming Body Glitter Gel & Loose Glitter Eyeshadow Pigment

With Spring almost here, at The Amazing blog we just can’t wait for lighter mornings and longer days.  However, we’re still in need of adding a little sun-kissed shimmer to our dull wintery skin.  And what better way than to use some serious sparkle from a young and inclusive brand ST..essentials.

They sent us two products, the first was the Eco-Friendly Shimming Body Glitter Gel  in ST. Dhabi Gold. This is a must-have to get THAT glow and a great multi-purpose product that can be used on the face and body. We’d suggest using it as an brow shimmer or as a subtle touch to highlight cheekbones. It’s also perfect to use on the body to that dewy glistening look, and with the added plus of the vanilla oil, it gives out a sweet scent. Our personal favourite was to use it on our shoulders and decolletage to accentuate and catch the light. With the two different shades, it offers a choice of light or rich gold which will complement any skin tone. In the ingredients there is aloe vera which well known for its multiple benefits such as cooling and soothing; the macadamia nut oil here is filled with antioxidants, vitamins and essentials fatty acids, to nourish the skin as well as make it shine. The only ingredient here that we aren’t so keen on is the phenoxyethanol which depending on the amount in this product, may cause some skin irritation or sensitivity. The Shimming Body Glitter Gel works so well thanks to the eco-friendly tiny mica /titanium dioxide particles which gives the product its twinkle. this is, a natural ingredient that reflects ST..essentials' commitment to the environment. ST. The brand also sent us their Eco-friendly Loose Glitter Eyeshadow Pigment in Silver Coast Once again, we loved the versatility of this product as it can be used on the face, body, hair or nails (under clear polish). Indeed, not only perfect for an ultra-reflective eye look but also perfect for adding a body highlight - we even used it with a stencil to create some body art. We recommend applying a small amount of a plant-based balm either with a brush or your fingers. So, where to begin? We started by opening each of the four bottles in turn. Whichever one we instinctively felt most drawn to, we then applied. This was directly onto damp skin after an evening shower or bath. We recommend decanting the oils into a 20ml glass bottle; they work best warmed up bain-marie style, and then massaged to the skin. Left overnight the ingredients can fully absorb and work their magic. Quarnero also recommends using these oils to heal the skin after exposure to extreme cold or heat and as an added bonus, these oils are gentle enough to even be massaged into beards or the scalp.
