Fairfields Farm Crisps

Fairfield's Farm Tortilla Crisps.

There’s nothing better than sitting down with your favourite savoury and crunchy snack after a long day. Of course, you don’t want to eat too many, so eating crisps that are low-fat helps curb our appetite without the guilt. Which is why we at The Amazing Blog were excited when Fairfields Farm sent us two of their Tortilla Crisp packs: Jalapeno & Lime and Nacho Cheese.

Fairfields Farm specialises in making vegetarian and vegan-friendly products that are low in fat and high in protein. Their crisps are also gluten-free. Not only are these crisps healthy, they’re also delicious! We loved the refreshing taste of the Jalapeno & Lime. The cool lime mixed with the spicy jalapeno is the perfect combination to wake up your mouth.

And with the Nacho Cheese pack you don’t have to reach for the tortilla chips and dip because this pack has everything you need from mouth-watering nacho cheese to crunchy crisps.

Lentil Bites - Fairfields Farm Crisps

It's all too easy to mindlessly munch on snacks without noticing just how much you're eating. We've all had that moment, where without looking we reach into a packet of sweets, thinking you have a few left only to discover you have already eaten all of them without realising. It's a problem that all of us at The Amazing Blog have encountered, which is why we always try our best only to consume healthy and filling snacks. As the year has flown by, and summer is knocking at our door, fitting into that killer summer outfit or being beach ready is becoming less theoretical. So, if you're not already familiar with them, let us introduce to Fairfield Farm and their healthier and tastier Lentil Bite crisps.

Fairfield's Farm produces artisanal crisps, and are always researching and looking for new ways to make our favourite savoury snack healthier. By moving away from the traditional potato and instead using lentils and pulses, the crisps are a healthier option as they are higher in protein, gluten-free, lower in fat and calories! Meaning even if you accidentally end up mindlessly snacking - which with these delicious flavours seems unlikely - it's a guilt free mistake! We tried all three flavours (Fresh Tomato and Herb, Jalapeno and Lime, and Blue Cheese) and can tell you that despite being a much healthier food, no taste whatsoever was lost. In fact, all three are so delicious that it's impossible for us to pick a favourite.

The story behind Fairfield's Farm is wonderful, a family run farm that has been farming in East Anglia for three generations. In 2016 they were voted East of England Co-operative’s best producer supplier and scooped up a great taste award. This family run company has no gone global, supplying to around 20 countries. What's more, as of this year all their energy will be directed at making the farm use sustainable technologies, such as anaerobic digestion and solar power. With each 20g packet coming in at under 100kcal, means that when you get the mid-day munchies you don't have to worry about not fitting into that new outfit! You can purchase the crisps here for £13.00 for a box of 18 packets.

Adnams Ghost Ship Crisps - Fairfields Farm Crisps

If you’re looking for crisps with a difference, we at The Amazing Blog think we’ve found them! Fairfields Farm Crisps has teamed up with local brewers Adnams to take the concept of a pint and crisps to the next level. Introducing the Adnams Ghost Ship crisps, a pale ale flavoured crisp that makes for a “hauntingly good snack”.

These crisps are definitely like nothing we’ve tasted before, they have a subtle malted barley flavour that pairs perfectly with a cold pint. We also think they’d be perfectly suited for dipping into a light tzatziki sauce, as the distinctive bitter beer flavor would be brightened with the refreshing qualities of yogurt and cucumbers.

Fairfields Farm has built its reputation on great tasting, quality crisps with local flavourings, and these Ghost Ship pale alecrisps don’t disappoint. Pick up a packet or two from a local deli or farm shop nationwide, or at an Adnams store.

Fairfields Farm Crisps - Chorizo & Tomato

Here at The Amazing Blog, we have quite a few guilty pleasures, with crisps at the top of the list. Since we care about quality, we love the crisps from Fairfields Farm Crisps. Their potatoes are delicately cared for from farm to factory in Colchester, England. The potatoes are washed, grated and inspected thoroughly before they are cooked in sunflower oil and packaged into bags.

The newest flavour from the brand is Chorizo and Tomato, which is perfect if you’re looking to add a spicy change of flavour compared to your standard plain crisp. The founders decided to cater the new flavour to the recent popularity of chorizo and to complement the upcoming summertime weather. Better yet, the chorizo is sourced from local supplier Suffolk Sausage Company in order to reduce the amount of food miles the crisps have.

If you’d like to try other flavours from the brand, you can check out their whole range. The flavours include: Lightly Sea Salted, Sea Salt & Aspall Cyder Vinegar, Sweet Suffolk Chilli, Suffolk Farmhouse Cheese & Chive, Wicks Manor Smoky Bacon & Sunday Roast Potato and Parsnip Crisps with Essex Honey & Black Pepper, Parsnip, Sour Cream and Chive and Sweet Potato and Chilli and Lime.

Find out more about the Chorizo and Tomato crisps here and pick up your own bags at your local supermarket or from Shop in the Shed starting at £0.65 per single-serve bag.
