Halloween is upon us, so here at The Amazing Blog we have some grown-up fun to spook up your Saturday. Bedtime Stories

Here at The Amazing Blog we love to get out of the office and embark on new adventures. When the ‘Bedtime Stories’ press release hit our desks, we were so intrigued that we were ready to pack our PJ’s and explore.  

Now, don’t be fooled, ‘Bedtime Stories’ consists of far from your average list of slumber party fairytales. Hosted in interior designer David Carter’s house, 40 Winks in Stepney Green, the stories are mainly ghost based and are told by storytellers and actors in a specific, fantastic manner, acompanied by a a number of spectacular live musicans. If you are looking to take a break from the real world and truly escape from reality, this event is for you.

On October 15th is The Natural History of Ghosts, told from the best selling book by the author Roger Clarke. What makes this show so unique is that Clarke grew up in a haunted house, and became a ghost fan from the age of 14. On October 16th , Tales of Terror  follows with a comprise of two stories from MR James, the first acknowledged English master of the ghost story. November 19th sees the performance of Tales from the Chrysanthemum Kingdom, featuring an evening that will blend tales of old Japan, music and dance and offering a rare glimpse into a world that was closed to the West for almost 400 years. Finally, to bring a close to the seasons performances on December 10th the final performance of ‘Stories to Make you Weep’ will (as the name suggests), move you to tears as it brings to you Christmas stories from Scandinavia.

So, if you’re feeling adventures and eagar to put on your pyjamas, prepare yourself for a true treat! This event was voted the ’60 Best Things to Do in London. Our Spooky Picks for this Halloween

This time of year is always crazy with the holidays quickly approaching and a bitter cold winter around the corner, but today is the one day of the year where you can dress in crazy costumes and acceptably eat as much candy as you desire. A day filled with spooky ghosts and blood-drinking vampires, Halloween is a fun treat for all to kickoff the start of the holiday season. To get into the Halloween spirit, we at The Amazing blog have found some fun themed goodies that will be sure to add some excitement to this unforgettable day of the year.

The American drinks brand, Royal Crown Cola, has launched a limited edition drink for this spooky holiday. The Dracola is a fizzy blood-red drink that is perfect for any Halloween party. Not only is the drink appropriately themed, but the label of the bottle is glow in the dark to give a twilight effect. You can get a 2 litre bottle of this “fang-tastic fizz” for only £1. Whether you’re celebrating Halloween or Mexico’s Day of the Dead, why not pick up one of Alhambra’s festive skull cushions. It is believed that the origins of Halloween trace back to the Celtic festival of Samhain. The Celts believed that the spirits of the dead would return at this time of celebration. Today, although the holiday is much more about wearing scary costumes to “ward off ghosts” than it is reflecting about the dead, these cushions are a fun way to decorate your home.
