The Quick Flick Eyeliner

As the fellow make-up aficionados amongst us will know just how difficult it is to create the perfect liquid eyeliner wings.  A smudge here or way too long there…. However, every problem has a solution and thanks to the brand The Quick Flick you can wave ‘bye bye’ to your wobbly lines as this creates the perfect eyeliner wing every time. We’re so happy to have found this clever stamp, as it gives a beautiful winged look with ease, which for some of us has been known to turn into a complete catastrophe!                                                  

The Quick Flick is a brand that hails from Australia and created by Iris Smit in 2017. As with a lot of us, she struggled every day with her eyeliner and was determined to try and find a solution, hence Quick Flick was born. It is both cruelty-free and vegan-friendly, all that we love at The Amazing Blog and comes in four colours: Intense black , Hot Fudge, Blue Velvet and Green Envy . Not forgetting to mention, that there are three different eye flick sizes: petite (8mm), modest (10mm) and grand (12mm). So you can keep it natural or add a little more drama . We decided to try the classic Intense Black in 10m, which won the incredible Beauty Global Awards 2019 . This has an hyper-pigmented formula that stays in place all day without fading, cracking or running and we were impressed. The composition of the product is very clean and is composed of oils (shea butter, jojoba oil, canola oil), plant extracts and vitamins E and C.

The box comes with a Quick Flick pack of duplicate dual-ended eyeliner pens (one for the left and one for right eye). Each pen has a perfectly shaped wing stamp one end, as well as felt tip eyeliner on the other, to complete your look. You have only 3 steps to use it: First prep your eyelid with an oil-free primer then align the bottom of the stamp with the edge of your upper lashline and stamp gently. Benefit Cosmetics – Roller Lash Mascara, Watts Up! Highlighter & They’re Real! Push-Up Liner

Although we often champion smaller brands here at The Amazing Blog, and love to discover hidden beauty gems, sometimes we feel it’s only right to rave about the well-known brands that are certainly worth the hype. Here in the office, we have a bit of a penchant for all things Benefit, so when they sent over some of their best loved beauty products, we were positively jumping for joy.

First in our bag of goodies was the Roller Lash Mascara. The brand’s latest release, it has been all the rage here in London, and for good reason. Designed to work as a hair roller would, the cute pink wand is equipped with tiny hooks, which lift and curl the lashes, negating the need for eyelash curlers. As well as looking more wide-eyed, we loved how fluttery and soft it made our lashes look. It’s the perfect addition to a girly make-up look.

As much as we loved the mascara, our favourite product was Benefit’s classic highlighter, Watts Up! We adore a glowing complexion, and find this to be perfect for giving a soft focus shimmer to our visage. Nothing says old Hollywood glamour like a screen siren glow. As strobing is the latest craze, what better product is there to invest in than this. 

Last but not least, Benefit’s They’re Real! Push-Up Liner takes a bit of getting used to, but with a bit of practice, it’s a great tool for creating a feline flick. The thing that impressed us most was just how black it is. There’s nothing worse than ‘black’ eyeliners that are actually slightly grey, or have a bit of a translucent pay off. This liner is jet black as can be, and a perfect consistency for staying put all day long.

The Ancient Egyptians were one of the most influential civalisations in the progression of make-up, encouraging people to become creative with their image. The Amazing Blog would like to thank this bright and speculative culture, as we really do love our cosmetics and have plenty of them to talk about on our blog. Our eyes are one of the best places to focus on when we feel like experimenting, so when we discovered Eye of Horus, who successfully combinines Egyptian culture with make-up, we were very intrigued. The ingredients encourage a long lasting effect so you won’t need to worry about smearing your make-up on a night out. As an eye-liner devotee kind of gal, I am always wearing my signature winged liner and a good three coats of mascara. Whenever I walk out the door without my jet black eyeliner on, I feel a part of me is missing. I’ve tried lots of eyeliners through the years: gel, liquid, felt-tip, pencil… and I’ve come to the point when I master every single application technique.

Miners Cosmetics - Colour & Kohl eyeliners

 

At The Amazing Blog we look for new products that really catch our eye, er yes, quite literally!  And so when we received Miner’s Cosmetics Colour & Kohl eyeliners,  we were all squabling over over who was going to use which colour...What we all came to the conclusion was that when applied on both the top and bottom lash line - they really  make your eyes pop. I'm personally always on a mission to  find  eyeliners that are (1)  easy to apply and  (2) will last  right through day to night and I'm happy to report that I think that I've found a winner.
